"I've gotten a chance to see how things have changed. In the '70s and '80s, we'd say 'we think it's (drug addiction) a disease.' In the last 12 years, because of MRI technology, we can see that when the brain is exposed to chemicals, it causes damage," he said. "Now we say we know it is a disease."
